So now you're going to think I'm some kind of organizational weirdo...but I had to share a teaching tool I’ve created for myself in order to stay more organized. I'm a little late to joining the teacher binder party! This teacher binder is where ALL my information can be kept in one tidy little place. So far, it's worked...no joke! Thanks to the teacher wife and a year of many firsts for posting examples/resources of this wonderful tool!
My teacher binder has multiple tabs for all my teaching needs. It keeps everything accessible on hand wherever I am (home, school, etc). The tabs are my weekly lesson plans/pacing guides, student information, data and grade level articulation stuff, common core checklists, and school information. The binder section covers are from a "year of many firsts" and can be found here.

Here is a sample of what my weekly lesson plans look like in my binder:
Download my planner template here. |
The next part shows a sneak peek into our grade level pacing guide...this part is kept with my weekly planning section:

This pacing guide was from Imagine It! Resources and can be downloaded here! |
Since I'm trying to be better about implementing the Common Core Standards now, I decided to purchase Rachelle's Math and ELA Common Core Checklists for 2nd grade on TPT... and they are working really well! She bundles up both Math and ELA on an easy to use standards checklist.
Purchase her checklists here! She has multiple grade levels on her site. |
My next tab has all my students' info, parent communication, etc.
The last tabs have my grade level data/meeting notes as well as school information like handouts I need to have on hand or keep in one place so they don't disappear on me (SST forms, school policies and procedures, scheduling).
So far, I've LOVED using this all-in-one teacher binder. I don't know why I hadn't thought of keeping everything in one place...duh! :) Goodnight all!

Love it! I couldn't live with my organized binder! :)

Teaching Maddeness
It's not weird. I think I'd need a ramp up course to get into using it. I can get started, but I slack off and then I don't use it any more. I can certainly see the usefulness of this for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe imagine it pacing guide is just what I am looking for! It looks great...would you have anyway of sharing your schools Kindergarten Imagine it pacing guide. I would be forever grateful!
