First Day of School Plans

I know it's not proper bloggy etiquette to post more than once a day...but just as soon as I saw Primary Punch's first day of school post, I knew I had to share too! What a FUN linky! :)

The first day of school is usually an early release day and flies by speeeedy quick. Sorry, I had to throw in some Junie B. lingo! We start the day by learning new classroom procedures and take a classroom tour. Maybe do a few read alouds, rule flip books, and cover a few of my 1st-5th grade back to school activities found here. You can download it for free by clicking on any of the images below. Basically, just easy breezy stuff. I also send home my parent introduction letter as well as important classroom information. I'm thinking about creating a little brochure similar to First Grade Blue Skies. It's such a great way to send home important information without overwhelming parents with loads of papers...save that for back to school night! These are some of the activities I'll be doing with them that first day back!

What do you do the 1st day back? Link up with Deana and tell us all about it!
