St. Patty's Day Unit and Accelerated Reader Board

Top of the morning to ya! Technically, it's not morning...not even close. But, I really was gonna post this yesterday morning...and then the beach happened. I thought, beach today? Sure, why not? I mean, it was 79 degrees in the middle of January people! For those of you freezing your little tushies off in the snow or rain...I thoroughly enjoyed the warm sunshine and lovely breeze for you. Plus I got to catch up with some very interesting reading! Okay, I'll stop being a brat now. But don't we look so cute?! 

I wanted to blog and share some awesome things our school has been doing for Accelerated Reader. We recently finished our first two marking periods and had an incentive for the students who met both of their period 1 and 2 goals. We came up with a PJ/movie night at school! We held one last year for the same marking periods and it was a huge success! The kids LOVED coming after school in their PJ's and lounging around in the gym while munching on some snacks and popcorn! It helped to have a super cool movie too! Anyway, as part of the technology committee at my school, we are in charge of decorating the AR bulletin board...see where I'm going with this?? So, ta-da! Here is what we've done for each marking period. Thank you to my co-partner for being so creative and letting me get my DJ Inkers fix!
