Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Two special treats for you...one edible and one not so edible. :)
I'll start with the edible treat!
I've been on a baking roll people...and I DON'T BAKE. I love, love, love to cook all sorts of yummy things I see on Pinterest. But when it comes to baking...it's not my forte, to put it nicely. So when my sister-in-law introduced me to this deliciously EASY and fool-proof dessert, I was on-board immediately! I've made it a whole THREE times and it's getting yummier each time! So this is my Thanksgiving treat for those of you that don't bake but want to, or those that are pros and would like another yummy dessert under their belt! Take a look at this beauty!
Fresh Fruit Tart
For the crust:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup of flour
1 1/2 sticks of butter
-Mix into processor/mixer, flatten, roll into firm ball and chill in fridge for 30 mins
-Press into 12 inch tart pan and bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
For the filling:
1 8oz cream cheese square
1/2 cup of sugar
1 tsp. of pure vanilla extract (or real vanilla bean)
1/4 cup of heavy cream
-Beat until smooth and spread over cooled crust
Assemble:
-You can assemble the berries in any kind of order, but strawberries should be closest to the crust.
-I use strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and kiwi (you can also use raspberries)
Chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes right before serving and enjoy!
See how easy peasy that was??? And it looks so pretty too!
