Hello friends! We are halfway through the week with a glorious 3-day weekend just around the corner. We can do it!!! :) Okay, maybe I needed that reminder more than you did...this week has been just as exhausting and busy as the last.
Here's a little recap of our week so far...
Monday was our Hands on Art Day. HOA is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching our classrooms with art education! You know, the stuff we rarely have time for nowadays?! I'm so thankful for our docent who attends workshops to learn the projects and then comes into our classroom and teaches us how to replicate the project step-by-step. This month's project was "Londres Le Parlament" by Monet. Loved all the purple hues!
Tuesday was filled with Career Day presentations and more Chromebook action. My teaching buddy came up with this FABULOUS idea of having the kids take notes during the presentations. You mean, each kid has to pay attention?! Why yes, just have them fill out this career day form as they actively listen and stay engaged. Simply genius! :) Since I don't have a picture of what her wonderful form looks like, I whipped up one for you to have in case you have a guest speaker or career days looming in the near future. Just click on the image below to download your free copy.
Today in "Chromebook 101" we learned how to share a Google Doc. This was no walk in the park people. Have you ever tried teaching a 9 year old how to share a Google document? I mean, I could barely do it a year ago. So after many tries and attempts to access their Google Drive and learn how to store their documents and presentations on a "cloud," they FINALLY got it. Hallelujah! This is a biggie...mainly because this allows me to have access to their work without having to print it out for them or even have a paper copy. NO MORE PILES OF PAPER! Feel me on this one?? So happy to get these little emails instead! Share away, kids!
So there are my two days...I still have a long way to go before Friday but I can already see the light at the end of the tunnel. Since you've read this far, I have a special President's Day Freebie to share with you! Just click on the images below to download a copy from my TPT shop!
If you like the freebie, I have a complete CC aligned President's Day Unit found {HERE} with reading passages on Washington and Lincoln, fill in the blank activities, graphic organizers, Executive Branch reading passage and quiz, and much more!
How is your week going?
You are so lucky to have an art docent visit your school! I would love that! Thanks for the career day freebie! I am going to use it with my students when we have our career day in a few months.
