Swap 'Til You Drop!

Happy Monday! I am SO excited to be sharing with you the goodies I got to review from my bloggy friend Jaime at Bright Concepts for Teachers! She came up with a linky where all our favorite bloggy friends got to swap 'til we dropped! How cute is that name?!
I was SO lucky enough to be paired with Jaime for our product swap. This could not be any more perfect since she had the most amazing 3rd Grade Interactive Math Notebook I had wish listed since the start of my school year!

I like using interactive notebooks in ELA, Math, and Science/Social Studies throughout the day with my kids. I think they are a great learning tool in the classroom and we use them as a resource for reviewing the standards we've learned and as a reference tool for my students. These notebooks foster independent learning and encourage students to take control of their own progress and reflect on a concept. It's that metacognition that you're trying to aim for...thinking about their thinking! Jaime's interactive notebooks were the perfect addition to my math journal time!

Her notebook covers all the 3rd Grade Math CCSS and is organized beautifully! It includes a cute cover, divider tabs for each strand, pictures of EVERY page so you can have an example of how each activity can be used, and student friendly "I can" statements at the top of each journal page. Holy moly it is a beauty!
Super cute cover!
Easy to find tabs!

Her journal pages were seriously the perfect addition to our multiplication/division unit in our math curriculum! My kids loved starting out the day with a multiplication or division problem in their journals. Here are a few snapshots of my my students' journal examples!

Their favorites are the ones with the flaps! They can't get enough of the flip flaps! :)
I love how easy to use they all are and how not every page needs to be cut out! Sometimes we just don't have the time to cut, cut, cut!
Example of using these as a quick informal assessment!
We also like to highlight the "objective" or standard at the top of each page too!
I can't wait to use these next year with my kids from the very beginning of the school year! Jaime also has these fabulous interactive math journals for 1st and 2nd grade! YAY! :)
